Shauna Haipola, MS, Dipl NCCAOM, is a Registered Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbal Medicine Practitioner is a local Yass Valley resident who is excited to be part of the Enhance Healthcare team. Shauna has over 18 years of experience using acupuncture, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and laser therapies to help patients to find balanced health. Using a pain-free style of acupuncture, she provides support for all stages of life. She believes that prevention is much faster than a cure, but realizes that we all tend to ignore those niggling issues until they interrupt our daily lives.
Shauna has special interests in Women’s Health and hormonal balancing, pregnancy and fertility support, and family wellness. She believes in supporting women through their journey to becoming pregnant, throughout their pregnancy, and through the often difficult post-partum time. She also has a special interest in the treatment of migraines, having had a great deal of success in both symptomatic and preventative treatment.
Shauna also enjoys alleviating the pain and discomfort of biomechanical issues. If you are experiencing back pain, arthritis, or pain that is interrupting your day, acupuncture can be very useful to return you to those activities you would like to enjoy. Acupuncture therapy works very well in combination with massage and chiropractic to help you achieve your most healthy you.
Shauna is also fully trained in Chinese Herbal Medicine and can use herbal therapy to help balance your body and achieve faster healing and improved health and performance. Chinese Herbal Medicine can be used alone or in conjunction with acupuncture, massage and chiropractic to treat most conditions but may be especially helpful in treating hormonal and digestive issues.
Shauna has extensive training in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Shauna studied Biochemistry at Mount Holyoke College (South Hadley, Massachusetts, USA) and achieved her Masters in Acupuncture and Graduate Certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine through Bastyr University (Seattle, Washington, USA). She also did advanced studies in Traumatology, Gynecology and Internal Medicine in Shanghai, PRC and Chengdu, PRC. She is a Registered Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbal Medicine Practitioner through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is a member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association and is a Diplomate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine through the NCCAOM.
